Students in discussion with the Social and Economic Council (SER)
What preoccupies students? Housing, student debt and good employment perspectives are important topics for them. Business Management Studies students with a graduation profile of Public Management from The Hague University of Applied Sciences visited the SER on 7 December for an introduction to the work of the SER.
The collaboration between companies and government in a variety of areas is of great interest. When asked what concerns them in their personal life, the students name the dire housing shortage and high rental prices for houses, and their doubts about financial possibilities of, for instance, a mortgage.
Exploration of development opportunities for youths
The exploration of development opportunities for youths that the SER is currently preparing in partnership with the SER Youth Platform will address this and other bottlenecks. Early next year, the Youth Platform will start with an online survey into the opportunities for youths at significant points in their lives: during their studies, when entering the employment market, moving out to live on their own and starting a family.
