MasterChef workshop introduces international students to Dutch culture
How do you make Dutch culture more accessible to THUAS international students? Well, let them have cake. Or at least typical Dutch treats as pepernoten, speculaas and drop. International students made these themselves during a MasterChef workshop.
The energy in the kitchens of the Slinger is full on! A MasterChef competition, a shopping list of an array of Dutch ingredients, 75 international students, a group of students of Nutrition and Dietetics supervising the culinary act and you would not believe the wonders that this multicultural interaction can produce.
The MasterChef jury, comprised of THUAS staff, was deliciously impressed by the delicate presentation and succulent taste of the dishes of the 25 groups and was delighted to hand out the exquisite Dutch delicacies that made out the prizes of the winning teams: pepernoten, speculaas and even drop.
All things Dutch
The MasterChef workshop that took place earlier this month is part of a series of interactive sessions that aim to introduce international students to all things Dutch. A regular group of 75 students participate in the weekly events organised by The Lighthouse and Team Global Citizenship and Internationalisation. The sessions are open to all students and staff members of THUAS. Find more information at this website.
