Rutte impressed by the collaboration between education and business world
On 6 September, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Secretary of State Mona Keijzer (Economic Affairs) visited the Betafactory in Delft. Betafactory is an IT incubator in which secondary and higher education and research university education work together with companies on innovations. Rutte was impressed: “It’s fantastic to see how you have achieved this collaboration between the worlds of business and education.”
Rutte en Keijzer took a tour of the Betafactory and the nearby IT incubators HighTechCentreDelft and Accenda. The government leaders saw examples of innovations that had been created by linking education and research to the demands of businesses. Knowledge-sharing between these disciplines plays a key role here. In the Betafactory, THUAS students proudly showed off the Formula Cruiser (an electric race car) and a future autonomous city vehicle.
