Just a Moment With Neal
I’ve been a part of the catering staff at the main campus for a while now. I like it, but I want more than this. When you’re done with school you think: I want to make money. But after a few years of working, you realise that you want to move with the rest of the world. In the restaurant I talk to a lot of students and teachers. Three teachers from THUAS convinced me to go back to studying. They told me that I have very good communication skills. I’ve already worked as a manager at McDonald’s, where I had to greet each customer as they entered and ask for their opinions on the products we offered. I used to be as quiet as a mouse, but because of that job I now have the gift of the gab. My dream is to open my own business, a Surinamese restaurant. So now I’m thinking of doing HRM, Facility Management, or Entrepreneurship & Retail Management. I will be going to the Open Day soon.

JUST A MOMENT
Over the course of a day, you see dozens of faces pass you by – in the Atrium, on the stairs, on your way to class. Behind each face is a unique story. This series of interviews, inspired by ‘Humans of New York’, gives readers a little peek into the lives of students and staff at THUAS.
