Just a moment with Iman
“I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, but there were two things I knew for certain: I’m creative and I can’t imagine myself working a 9-to-5 office job. In the summer of 2015, my brother returned from a holiday on Gran Canaria wearing a bracelet made of lava stone. I thought it was so incredibly cool that I started Googling how and where to buy lava stone. I then began designing and selling bracelets to people I knew, but now sell them in my own webshop and to regular shops. I’ve become an entrepreneur, which has come as a complete surprise to me. And I really enjoy it – so much so that it’s becoming increasingly harder to combine my company with my studies. Of course, that’s no reason to slow down in my opinion. ‘Live in the moment’ is my motto, and the only moment I have is right now. Get the most out of every day is what I’d like to share with the world. And don’t give up! Entrepreneurs in particular need to have this kind of attitude. For me, success means getting up each day, doing what I enjoy and earning a living from it. In fact, for me, freedom is synonymous with success.”

JUST A MOMENT
In this rubric every two weeks a colleague or student of THUAS gives readers a little peek into their lives. Inspired by ‘Humans of New York’. On this Facebook page photographer Brandon Stanton made a world city as New York more personal by capturing spontaneous encounters with residents in word or on film. This series of interviews partially brings stories of our students and staff to light.
