Just a moment with Gijs Brandenburg
“I think most of us feel quite safe in the Netherlands, but there are significant risks, especially digital ones. For example, if you have a company and don’t regularly update your software, you expose yourself to malware, such as a virus, that can wreak havoc. What I love about my field is thinking about your clients and ensuring their actual safety. Later I would love to work as a consultant and help companies resolve their challenges.
Personally I am quite careful. Even with my motorcycle I practice risk management. I prefer riding from Schipluiden towards Maasland or cruising along the pretty smaller roads. I really enjoy taking some nice turns, enjoying an adventurous ride. For longer rides I wear a full suit, for shorter rides I don’t bother. There is nothing wrong with taking risks, as long as you are aware of it.”

JUST A MOMENT
Over the course of a day, you see dozens of faces passing by: in the Atrium, on the stairs, on your way to class. Behind each face is a unique story. This series of interviews, inspired by ‘Humans of New York’, gives readers a little peek into the lives of students and staff at THUAS.
