Automats for laptops and projectors
Some of us get fast food from an automat; others get a laptop or projector. Now, students and staff at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht can borrow these pieces of equipment in a jiffy.
The HU’s magazine, Trajectum, reported that since Monday, 12 May, students and staff at the HU’s Heidelberglaan location can make use of this new vending-machine service.
Personnel are no longer needed at the ‘lending wall’: instead, HU students and staff can simply select from the available laptops, projectors or cameras online. Then, they get an e-mail with a QR code that can be used to open the door of the reserved equipment. A code is also used to return things.
Reservations can be made 24/7. The lending system also enables the lending of bicycles. But in that case, it’s just the bicycle key you get from the wall.
